Alta van Dyk

Technical Director

As Technical Director, Alta van Dyk is instrumental in steering AvDCG towards technical rigor and excellence across the various AvDCG technical sectors.

Her leadership extends beyond mere implementation; where she sets and upholds rigorous technical standards that not only meet but anticipate evolving regulatory, technical and project demands and innovations.

Alta van Dyk is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight on all technical aspects of the organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives, project objectives, industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Alta van Dyk leads and mentors the AvDCG technical and supporting teams fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence and continuous improvement with the aim of training and driving professional development towards a high-performing team.

Alta van Dyk, at more than 31 years of experience in the industry, brings a wealth of expertise, holding a Master of Science in Environmental Management from the University of North-West and a Master of Laws degree in International Commercial Law from Salford University in Manchester.

Her professional affiliations include registration with:

  • The South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) in Natural Science Services and Environmental Science fields of practice (Registration number 400099/02) since 2002.
  • The Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa as a Registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner (Registration number 2019/962) since 2019.
  • The Water Institute of Southern Africa (WISA) (Membership number 26088) since 2016; and
  • The Geological Society of South Africa since 2013.

Reata Colyn

Managing Director

As Managing Director, Reata Colyn is pivotal in shaping the overall direction, strategy and success of the organization and its projects.

Her ultimate responsibility includes overall organizational project management and organizational performance, growth and sustainability inclusive of organizational oversight and financial management.

As lead organizational project manager, her responsibilities encompass a comprehensive range of tasks aimed at achieving project goals efficiently and effectively while ensuring client satisfaction and compliance and organizational success. Effective project management requires a combination of technical skills, leadership abilities, communication proficiency, and a structured approach to managing resources, quality, risks, and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.

Reata Colyn, ensures the successful planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of projects within the organization through the management of the organizations supporting teams.

Reata Colyn holds a Master of Science in Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Control from Ulster University in North Ireland and a Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology, Psychology and Genetics from University of Pretoria. Her professional affiliations include registration with:

  • The Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa as a Registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner (Registration number 2020/1534) since 2020.
  • The Toxicology Society of South Africa (Membership number TOX0187) since 2020.
